Carnlough Quarry Challenge

The Carnlough Quarry Challenge is a 5 km multi‑terrain race held in Carnlough with start and finish in the village centre near McAuleys Bridge Inn. The route climbs from the village onto a concrete road before entering the quarry, where runners follow loose limestone paths with a series of climbs and descents. The course includes a short out and back on the Largy Road and a final descent back into the village, passing under a limestone bridge before the finish.

The event is scheduled for 26 June 2026 and is organised by Glenlough Running Club. Entries open on 15 April 2026 and close on 24 June 2026 at 21:00. Entry fees are listed as Affiliated £15.00 and Non‑Affiliated £17.00. A minimum age of 16 applies; runners under 18 must complete a parental consent form at registration. Parking is available in the village and at the Community Centre.

Entries are managed through SiEntries; the event notes that transfers and refunds are not available. The course offers coastal views and, on clear days, views toward Scotland. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
