Carmel Valley Trail Race
The Carmel Valley Trail Race takes place in Gonzales Canyon Open Space in San Diego, California, on October 10, 2026. The event starts and finishes at Solana Ranch Park on the east end of Gonzales Canyon; the course design gives a flat start and finish while most elevation gain occurs in the middle.
Distances offered include:
- 10 Mile course with mixed terrain
- 10K course on the same ridgeline
- 5K mostly flat and shorter route
The 10 Mile and 10K courses both include the locally known "Puke Hill." The coastal setting contrasts with trails that can feel like a mountain run because of steep sections and varied footing. The race is limited to 300 runners under new park guidelines. The 10K and 5K distances are designated as championship qualifying events.
Registration fees listed for this edition are: 10 Mile $95.07, 10K $79.02, 5K $62.97. Packet pickup is scheduled on October 8 at Injinji HQ, 6975 Flanders Drive, and on October 9 at Fleet Feet San Diego, 5980 Village Way.
