Carmel Valley Trail Race
The Carmel Valley Trail Race is scheduled for October 10, 2026, in Gonzales Canyon Open Space in San Diego. The event uses Solana Ranch Park at the east end of Gonzales Canyon for both the start and finish, creating a flat start and finish with elevation gains concentrated in the middle of the courses.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 10 Mile - $84.37
- 10K - $68.32
- 5K - $52.28
The 10 Mile and 10K courses include a locally known climb called "Puke Hill." The 5K course is kept flatter. Course routes for each distance are available on Strava.
Due to new park guidelines, the field is limited to 300 runners. The 10K and 5K distances serve as Championship Qualifying events.

Solana Ranch Park has limited parking at the elementary school next door; most available parking is on neighboring streets, which are generally a 5-10 minute walk to the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
