Carlton Daze 5K Run/Walk
The Carlton Daze 5K Run/Walk is a chip timed community event held in Carlton that follows a route through town and a scenic stretch of Jay Cooke State Park via the Willard Munger State Trail. The event is presented as family friendly and open to a range of ages.
The 5K course covers 3.1 miles and includes two water stops. Runners line up at the front and walkers line up behind the runners; walkers are required to walk only. Separate running and walking divisions are maintained for results and awards.
Awards are presented immediately after the race. Medals are awarded to the overall top three men and women in both walking and running divisions. Top three men and women in each age group are posted; age groups include 12 and under, 13–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70 plus.
Registration pricing includes a race t-shirt with a $10 discount available for those who opt out of the shirt. Prices listed for in-person registration include an adult tier and a youth tier; a youth category is free for ages 0–8 without a shirt. Registering by July 16 guarantees a shirt size; after that date shirts are first come, first served and alternate pickup arrangements are noted.
Post-race provisions include bottled water provided by Caywood Country Store, fresh fruit provided by Jim N Jo’s Catering, and cupcakes to mark the centennial of Carlton’s first fire truck. Proceeds benefit the Carlton Area Chamber of Commerce and its community initiatives. Registration fees are non-refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
