Carlingford 5k Road Race 2026
The Carlingford 5k Road Race is organised by Glenmore AC in Carlingford, Co. Louth. The event is AAI approved and a permit has been issued, cert. no: 25/639. The programme includes both a senior road race and a set of juvenile races.
Distances:
- Senior race: 5 km open to anyone born 2011 or before
- U9: 500 m (born 2018 or after)
- U11: 750 m (born 2016 or 2017)
- U13: 1000 m (born 2014 or 2015)
- U15: 1200 m (born 2012 or 2013)
Prizes are awarded across categories. Juvenile prizes include trophies for 1st to 3rd and medals for 4th to 10th in each age group. There are prizes for an Additional Needs Race, with trophies for the top three and medals for all participants. Senior prizes include 1st to 3rd male and female, plus 1st and 2nd male and female teams of three. Team cups named in the event include the Michael Fearon Cup for the first men’s team and the Kevin Marron Cup for the first ladies’ team.
Age-category awards cover U20 and several masters classes (O/40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70) with medals for top finishers. There are also Glenmore-only trophies for the first male and female club athletes. Current course records are listed and a €300 prize is offered for breaking a course record.
