Carlingford 5km Road Race 2026
This event is a 5 km road race organised by Glenmore AC in Carlingford, County Louth. A permit has been approved, cert. no. 25/639, and the event is AAI approved. The organiser describes the course as scenic. Prizes are awarded across multiple age categories and for teams.
Juvenile race distances:
- U9: 500 m (born 2018 or after)
- U11: 750 m (born 2016 or 2017)
- U13: 1000 m (born 2014 or 2015)
- U15: 1200 m (born 2012 or 2013)
Juvenile prizes are given in U9, U11, U13 and U15 categories with trophies for 1st to 3rd, medals for 4th to 10th. There are also prizes for an Additional Needs race and medals for all participants in that race.
Senior 5 km entry is open to those born in 2011 or before. Awards include 1st to 3rd male and female, team awards for 1st and 2nd male and female teams of three, and team cups for the first men's and ladies' teams of three. Age categories include U20 and masters groups O/40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 with medals for 1st and 2nd in male and female classes. There are specific trophies for the first male and female Glenmore athletes. Current course records are 14:23 for men and 16:30 for women; a €300 prize is offered for breaking a course record.
