Event overview
The Carkeek 12-Hour is the 19th annual endurance running event held at Carkeek Park in Seattle, Washington. The 2025 edition offers both an in-person event on October 25 and a virtual option available October 1-31. The event has two time-based race options: a 12-hour race and a 6-hour race. Registration is limited to 50 runners for Carkeek to limit event footprint. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable, and registration closes October 21, 2025. Registration fees and donations support Endless Trails, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds local trail work and related activities. The race director covers processing fees for participants.
Course and race features
The course is a loop of 1.93 miles with 436' of elevation gain per lap. Terrain includes rolling trails and steep stairs, with views of Puget Sound. The event encourages Halloween-themed costumes and offers prizes for costumed runners, groups, and costumed pets. The race emphasizes low-impact practices, limited single-use paper products at the event, and support for local businesses for aid and prizes. Organizers note that COVID-19 precautions may be used as local conditions require, such as social distancing in communal areas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
