Carkeek 12 Hour
Carkeek 12 hour is a fall trail event with both in person and virtual options in 2026. The in person event is scheduled for October 24 in Carkeek Park, Seattle, Washington. A virtual option runs October 1 to 31. The event offers two timed formats: a 12 hour option and a 6 hour option.
The course is a single 1.93 mile loop with varied terrain including rolling trails, steep stairs, and short flatter sections. Each loop records about 436 feet of elevation gain and includes views of the Puget Sound. The course is looped so participants repeat the same circuit for the duration of their chosen format.
Organizers limit entries to 50 runners to keep the event small. The race operates as a fundraiser for local trails and for Endless Trails operating costs after permit and aid expenses. The event follows low impact practices and does not use paper products. Aid and raffle prizes are sourced mainly from the Seattle area. Race logistics include hand made bibs and lap counting with star stickers.
The event falls on Halloween weekend and encourages costume running. Prizes are offered for costumed runners including pet and group costume categories, along with other prizes awarded during the day. 2026 marks the twentieth annual edition of the event.
