Carolina Children's Charity organizes the 23rd Annual care • give • run® 5K Partial Trail Run and Family Fun Walk on September 26, 2026. The event takes place at Palmetto Islands County Park, Big Oak and Sweetgum Shelters, 444 Needlerush Parkway, Mount Pleasant, SC. A $2 park entry fee applies per person unless a Charleston County Parks Pass is presented.
The event offers two main options: A partial-trail 5K that uses mixed terrain including grass, paved paths, boardwalks, sand, dirt trails and exposed roots; the 5K is USATF certified and includes chip timing and an official event T-shirt on most ticket types. A Family Fun Walk presented as a relaxed, untimed route through the park; participants who raise $50 or more may earn a complimentary CCC T-shirt.
Children ages 3 and under participate free. Every participant receives a finisher medal. Awards are given for overall and masters divisions, age groups (three places), largest team, top fundraising team and best 80s attire, among other categories. The event theme is Back to the 80s with awards for best attire. Early packet pick-up is scheduled at SpringHill Suites by Marriott, Sweet Grass Room, 245 Magrath Darby Blvd., Mount Pleasant, SC.
