The in person 5K follows a route through the CNU campus and highlights recent additions, familiar landmarks, and campus landscaping. The Captains Dash is a one mile fun run or walk for kids of any age and is described as family friendly.

Virtual participants receive a race bib, shirt, and medal. Race packets for virtual entries will be mailed by March 26, 2027.

After the races there is the Blue & Silver Bash, a post race gathering on the lawn at the Alumni House where participants can meet other members of the CNU community.
