Capital to Capital 5K
The Rotary Club of Kingston, NY is sponsoring the fifth annual Capital to Capital 5K to raise money and awareness for the Ulster County Veteran Service Agency. The event also commemorates the Burning of Kingston in October 1777, when more than 2,000 Kingston refugees fled to the Town of Hurley after the city was burned.
The event is a hybrid 5 km offering both in-person and virtual participation. In-person participants will walk or run along the new segment of the O & W rail trail from Uptown Kingston to School House Lane in Hurley. Virtual participants may walk or run a 5 km distance on a trail or in a park in their hometown anytime between Saturday, Oct. 3 and Monday, Oct. 19.
Entry fees and awards are specified in advance: children 12 and under enter free and adults pay $25. Awards are presented to the top male and female finisher and to the top three finishers in each age group. The first 100 registrants receive a hand-crafted commemorative Rev250 5K medallion. To receive an official finisher's certificate, entrants must log their time on Zippyreg.com by Monday, Oct. 19, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
