Capital to Capital 5K
The Rotary Club of Kingston, NY is sponsoring the fifth Capital to Capital 5K on October 18, 2026 to raise money and awareness for the Ulster County Veteran Service Agency. The event commemorates the Burning of Kingston, when in October 1777 more than 2,000 refugees fled to the Town of Hurley.
The event is a hybrid 5K. In-person participants walk or run along the new segment of the O & W rail trail from Uptown Kingston to School House Lane in Hurley. Virtual participants may walk or run a 5 km distance on a trail or in a park in their hometown or elsewhere during the event window from October 3 to October 19, 2026.
Entry fees and awards are specified by the organizer. Children 12 and under enter free and adults pay $25. Awards are presented to the top male and female finisher and to the top three finishers in each age group. The first 100 registrants receive a hand-crafted Commemorative Rev250 5K medallion. To receive an official finisher certificate, entrants must log their time on Zippyreg.com no later than Monday, October 19, 2026.
Race-day logistics include check-in and late registration at the O & W Trail Head parking lot at Washington Avenue in Kingston opposite Ulster Savings Bank, an awards ceremony at the Hurley Heritage Museum, and UCAT bus service from Hurley back to Kingston after the race.
