Capital to Capital 5K
The Rotary Club of Kingston, NY is sponsoring the Fifth Capital to Capital 5K on October 18th, 2026 to raise money and awareness for the Ulster County Veteran Service Agency. The event is offered as a hybrid 5K with both in person and virtual participation options.
In person participants walk or run along the new segment of the O and W rail trail from Uptown Kingston to School House Lane in Hurley. Virtual participants may walk or run a 5 km distance on a trail or in a park in their hometown or elsewhere anytime between October 3 and October 19, 2026. Registration is available online.
Entry fees and awards are specified: children 12 and under participate free and adult entry is $25. Awards are presented to the top male and top female finisher and to the top three finishers in each age group. The first 100 registrants receive a hand crafted Commemorative Rev250 5K medallion. To receive an official finisher certificate, entrants must log their time on the event registration platform no later than October 19, 2026.
The event commemorates the Burning of Kingston in October 1777, when more than 2,000 Kingston residents fled to the Town of Hurley as British soldiers burned the city. UCAT will provide bus service from Hurley back to Kingston. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
