The Capital Pursuit 10-Mile takes place on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Easter Lake Park in Des Moines, Iowa. The 2026 edition is the event's 44th year. The race is organized by the Capital Striders, a member club of the Road Runners Club of America.

Registration and fees
Registration opens April 12, 2026. The 10 Mile registration fees are $50 through 8/8/2026, $55 from 8/9/2026 to 8/30/2026, and $60 from 8/31/2026 to 9/13/2026. The 4 Mile fees are $40 through 8/8/2026, $45 from 8/9/2026 to 8/30/2026, and $50 from 8/31/2026 to 9/13/2026. The Junior Pursuit is free. Capital Striders members receive a $10 online discount.
Additional information
Elite runners who meet time qualifications are offered free entry for the 10 Mile race under the event's elite standards. All 10 Mile and 4 Mile finishers receive a finisher medal. Pursuit Junior participants must register; they can register at the Pursuit Jr. table near the finish line on race day, and a parent or guardian must sign a waiver. Junior participants receive a t-shirt and a participation ribbon or medal.
