Capital City Marathon
The Capital City Marathon takes place in Olympia, Washington, with activities centered at Sylvester Park. The event course features rolling hills across the local landscape. As a sanctioned event, the full marathon serves as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
The weekend includes several distinct distances to accommodate different participants:
- Marathon: 26.2 miles
- Half Marathon: 13.1 miles
- Five Mile: 5 miles
- Kids' Run: 1.2 miles
Participants have access to a post-race event held on-site. This gathering includes food, music, and massage services. Support throughout the course is provided by volunteers. Registration for the main running events opens in early September and closes at the start of the new year, while the youth event remains open for registration until the day before the race. The event attracts a mix of experienced marathon runners and those participating for the first time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
