About the race
The Canyon to Coast Marathon takes place in Chilliwack, British Columbia, centered at Island 22 Regional Park. The event features a primarily flat course consisting of a mix of farm roads and wide urban-style path trails. Runners follow the Canyon to Coast Trail alongside the Fraser River, with views of the Cheam Mountain Range and the Cascade Mountains. This event supports the Dolly Parton Imagination Library book gifting program.
Available distances include:
- Marathon (42 km): An out and back route to the Agassiz Bridge with 250m elevation gain.
- Half Marathon (21 km): An out and back course on urban dikes with 140m elevation gain.
- 11 km: An out and back route with 100m elevation gain.
- 4 km: A loop on flat gravel paths within Island 22 Regional Park.
The event is cupless, requiring participants to carry their own reusable containers for hydration at aid stations. Timing is recorded manually at the finish line rather than via electronic chips. Facilities at the start and finish area include outhouses, a kids' zone with games, and a reading picnic area. For those unable to attend in person, a virtual participation option is available.
