Event Information
The Canyon to Coast is a running event held in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The event takes place at Island 22 Regional Park, less than 5 km from Chilliwack's historic downtown. It is a local, family-friendly event created to support the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and showcase the surrounding landscapes.
The courses run primarily on the Canyon to Coast Trail alongside the Fraser River. The routes offer views of the surrounding mountains, the river, and farmlands. The area is a public space shared with other trail users.
The event offers four distances:
- A 42 km marathon
- A 21 km half marathon
- An 11 km run
- A 4 km run
All participants receive a finisher's medal. Registration includes a $5.00 donation to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a bib number, aid stations, finish line food, and draw prizes. Timing is not chip-based; finish times are tracked manually via bib number. There is a limit of 200 participants for the 2026 edition.
Course Information
The start and finish line is at Island 22 Regional Park. The courses are mainly flat, utilizing urban dike trails and farm roads.
- The marathon (42 km) and half marathon (21 km) routes are out-and-back.
- The 11 km route is also an out-and-back.
- The 4 km route is a loop within Island 22 Park.
Toilets are available at each aid station. The event has a cupless policy; participants must carry their own reusable cup.
Virtual Event
A virtual participation option is available. Virtual runners receive their bib and medal by mail. They can run their chosen distance wherever and whenever they like. Virtual registration closes on April 1, 2026, to allow for shipping before event day.
Package Pickup & Access
Bib pickup is on-site on event morning. Carpooling is encouraged as parking at the park is limited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
