Canyon to Coast : Island 22 Regional Park, Chilliwack
Canyon to Coast takes place at Island 22 Regional Park and uses sections of the Canyon to Coast Trail beside the Fraser River. Routes showcase local scenery including the Cheam Mountain Range, Minto Island, surrounding farmland and distant views of the Cascade Range. The start and finish are in the main beach area of Island 22, under 5 km from Chilliwack’s historic downtown.
The course is mostly flat and combines urban dike trails with wide farm roads. Distance options are:
- 42 km Marathon, out and back to the Agassiz Bridge.
- 21 km Half marathon, out and back.
- 11 km Out and back route.
- 4 km Loop on Island 22 trails.
Aid stations are provided according to distance, with toilets at stations. All finishers receive a medal and overall awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in each distance. Timing is not chip based; finish times are recorded and results are shared after the event.
The event includes a virtual option with mailed participant packages and supports the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. Participation is limited to a set number of entrants and the on-site event includes family areas and activities for children. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
