Bear Mountain Trail Running Race

The Bear Mountain Trail Running Race is organised by Heads or Trails and takes place on May 23, 2026. The venue is Bear Mountain Park on Dewdney Trunk Road in Mission, British Columbia, Canada. The event uses singletrack and other trail surfaces and includes substantial climbing and descending.

The 8 km course has about 330 m of elevation gain and is described as a technical route that winds up Bear Mountain. The 15 km course has 741 m of elevation gain and one aid station at 7.5 km; the route climbs around the backside of the mountain, descends to the aid station, then climbs again before returning by a descent. The 30 km course is two laps of the 15 km route and is listed with about 1550 m of elevation gain and three aid stations at 7.5 km, 15 km and 22.5 km.

Children, support and partners

A kids race will be a 500 m out-and-back course. Children under 13 may race the 8 km distance with parental consent and a recommendation to pre-run the course; children under 8 must be accompanied on the course by a parent or guardian. The event lists fundraising pages for Mission Search and Rescue and the Fraser Valley Mountain Bike Association. Sponsors named include Arc'Teryx, Garmin and other local organisations. Volunteers receive benefits such as up to a 50% discount to a 2027 race, a race-specific swag item, snacks and beverage, and entry in volunteer prize draws.
