Canya Cañon Trail Race and Hike
The event takes place on November 8, 2026, at Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It features trail running and hiking on sections of the Columbine Trail inside North Cheyenne Cañon Park.
- 4 Miles
- 2.5 Miles
The 4 mile course follows the length of the Columbine Trail to the Powell parking lot and is chip timed by Pikes Peak Road Runners. Adventures Out West provides a shuttle from the Powell parking lot back to Starsmore; well behaved leashed pets are allowed on the course but pets are not permitted on the Adventures Out West vehicles.
The 2.5 mile course is an out and back route to the Mid Columbine parking lot and is not chip timed; participants may record their own time if desired. All participants receive a 2x4 painting and various fun awards. Awards for the 4 mile include custom awards for the top three overall male and female finishers and for age group winners.
This is a cupless event. Participants should bring their own water bottles; a water station will be located at the spur to Gold Camp Road roughly 2.5 miles into the longer course, and water will be available at the finish. Restrooms are available inside Starsmore and portable toilets will be at the Powell parking lot. Parking is available near Starsmore with overflow on Mesa Avenue west of Evans Avenue.
Registration opens June 15 and closes October 1. Early bird entry fees list the 4 mile at $40 and the 2.5 mile at $25, with higher fees after October 1. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
