Canya Cañon Trail Race & Hike
The event is a trail run and hike held on November 8, 2026 at Starsmore Visitor & Nature Center in North Cheyenne Cañon Park, Colorado Springs. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon, an organization that supports park improvements, programs, and community involvement.
Distances offered:
- 4 Miles, original Columbine Trail course, chip timed
- 2.5 Miles, out and back to Mid Columbine parking lot, not chip timed
The 4 mile course follows the length of Columbine Trail to the Powell parking lot. Adventures Out West provides shuttle return service from Powell to Starsmore; well behaved, leashed pets are allowed on the course but are not permitted in the shuttle vehicles. The 2.5 mile course is an out and back that turns at the Mid Columbine parking lot; pets are allowed.
This is a cupless event. Participants are asked to provide their own water bottle. A water station is located on Upper Columbine Trail at the spur to Gold Camp Road, about 2.5 miles into the longer course, and there is water at the finish area.
Parking is available in the lots near Starsmore with overflow parking on Mesa Avenue. Restrooms are inside Starsmore Visitor and Nature Center and portable toilets will be at the Powell parking lot finish. Awards include overall and age group prizes, fun awards, and all participants receive a 2x4 painting. Sun hoodies are reserved for the first 100 registrants, with limited sizes after October 10.
