Event details
The Adidas TERREX Cannock Chase Trig Points Race is organised by Mercia Fell Runners and takes place on Sunday 11 January 2026. The route is approximately 26.5 km with 540 m of total ascent and is classified FRA category CL. Entry is pre-entry only through the SI Entries system; entries open 1 November and close 5 January with a competitor limit of 150. Minimum age is 18. Entry fees are £13 for FRA members and £15.50 for non-members. Registration and parking are at Milford Hall Cricket Club, Main Road, Milford, ST17 0UL.
Course and safety
The course uses forest singletrack, sandy climbs and open heathland. Runners must self-navigate and visit the checkpoints in order: Start Milford Common (GR 975 210), Rifle Range (995 180), Moors Gorse (025 151), Castle Ring (043 128), Moors Gorse (025 151), Glacial Boulder (980 181), then return to Milford Common (975 210). SI timing is used and competitors are issued electronic dibbers; lost or unreturned dibbers incur a £40 charge. FRA mandatory kit must be carried or worn: full waterproof body cover (top and trousers), hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle. There will be a 2-minute time-out at Moors Gorse for a road crossing. No drinks will be provided at the Moors Gorse checkpoint. Toilets, changing rooms and showers are available at the cricket club and Milford Common, and results are posted after the event.
