Event
The Adidas TERREX Cannock Chase Trig Points Race is an off-road fell/trail event organised by Mercia Fell Runners. The course is approximately 26.5 km with about 540 m of ascent and is classified FRA category CL. Entry is by pre-entry only, with a minimum age of 18 and a competitor limit of around 150–160 places. Entry fees start at £13 for FRA members; non-member fees are listed at about £15–£16. SI timing is used.
Course and logistics
The route starts and finishes at Milford Common, with parking, registration, changing rooms, showers and post-race refreshments at Milford Hall Cricket Club, Milford (ST17 0UL). The event requires self-navigation and visiting five checkpoints in order before returning to Milford Common: Rifle Range, Moors Gorse (visited twice), Castle Ring and Glacial Boulder. There is a 65 minute cut-off on the outward leg at Moors Gorse; anyone exceeding this must return directly to Milford. A 2 minute time-out is used both ways at Moors Gorse for safe road crossing.
FRA mandatory kit must be carried or worn and will be checked; required items include waterproof body cover (top and trousers), hat, gloves, map, compass and whistle. SI dibbers are allocated at registration; lost or unreturned dibbers incur a £40 charge. No drinks are provided at the Moors Gorse checkpoint. Results are published after the race and changing and toilet facilities are available at both the cricket club and Milford Common. Sponsors for the event include Adidas TERREX and Run & Ride (Milford). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
