CandleLight 12/24 Hour - Overnight Ultra and Relays
The CandleLight 12/24 Hour - Overnight Ultra and Relays takes place at the Rochester Rotary Sunshine Camp in Rush, New York. This event challenges participants to complete as many laps as possible within a 12-hour or 24-hour timeframe. The available event categories include:
- 24 Hour individual race
- 12 Hour Overnight individual race
- 24 Hour Relay
- 12 Hour Overnight Relay
The racecourse consists of a 1-mile loop. The surface is mostly paved, with approximately 150 yards of smooth, wide trail. The layout features a gradual downhill section during the first half of the loop and a gradual uphill section during the second half.
For individual runners, there is no minimum time requirement to remain on the course. Completing one full lap qualifies as an official finish. Participants are permitted to walk, rest, or nap during the event. A fully stocked aid station is available, and runners may also set up personal support areas with coolers, tents, and chairs along the loop.
Relay teams consist of two to four members. Teams use a BIB belt as a baton and can determine their own rotation schedules and distances for each member. Overnight camping passes are also available for the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
