Cancer Chomp

Cancer Chomp is a community fundraising event taking place on October 17, 2026 at the UF Cancer & Genetics Research Complex in Gainesville, Florida. The event is the fifth annual edition and is organized to support brain and spinal tumor patients and their families at UF Health.

The event program includes a timed in-person 5K and a virtual 5K, plus family-friendly activities and local vendors. Features listed for the event include a Kid Zone, mini therapy horses, university mascots, a university band, and vendor booths. Attendance at the event site is free; the in-person 5K requires a registration fee.

Registration notes and participant services are specified for online and same-day registrants. Online registrants are guaranteed event shirts while same-day registrants receive shirts as supplies last. Swag bags are available to the first 200 checked-in participants. Awards are planned for first through third places in Men, Women, and Children categories. Online registration closes on Monday, October 12, 2026. Same-day registration is available for an increased entry fee. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities are available at multiple levels, and funds raised are used for lodging, gas cards, medication costs, and medical equipment for patients and families. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
