Cancer Chomp : Cancer support run and community event
Cancer Chomp is the fifth annual community event held on October 17, 2026 at the UF Cancer & Genetics Research Complex in Gainesville, Florida. The event includes a 5K run/walk on the University of Florida campus, a virtual 5K option, and on-site activities such as a Kid Zone, mini therapy horses, Gator mascots, the UF Band, and local vendors.
The in-person 5K follows a campus course known as "The Boot" around Lake Alice. Awards are given for first, second, and third place in the Men, Women, and Children categories. Registration is required for the 5K; online registration closes on Monday, October 12, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Entry fees listed for the 5K are Adults (13 and up) and Child (12 and under), with higher rates for same-day registration. Early and same-day packet pickup is available. Event shirts are guaranteed for online registrants while supplies last; swag bags are provided to the first 200 participants who check in.
Funds raised support brain and spinal tumor patients and families at UF Health, including lodging, gas cards, medication costs, and medical equipment. Exhibitor space is limited and subject to approval. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
