Cancer Chomp
Cancer Chomp is the 5th Annual fundraising event held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the UF Cancer & Genetics Research Complex in Gainesville, Florida. The event supports brain and spinal tumor patients and their families at UF Health by funding lodging, gas cards, medication costs, and medical equipment.
The event program includes:
- 5K run/walk
- Virtual 5K
The in-person 5K uses a course known as "The Boot" that tours around Lake Alice on the University of Florida campus. The event also features a Kid Zone, mini therapy horses, Gator mascots, the UF Band, local vendors, and an exhibitor area. Race finishers receive post-race water and snacks. Awards are planned for first, second, and third places in Men, Women, and Children categories.
Event attendance is free; the 5K has entry fees. Online entry fees listed are Adults (13+): $35 and Child (12 and under): $20, with higher same-day fees. Online registration closes Monday, October 12. Early packet pickup is available the day before the race and same-day packet pickup is available on race day. Event shirts are guaranteed for online registrants; same-day shirts are available while supplies last. Swag bags are provided to the first 200 people who check in.
