Event overview
The Cancer Active Trail Race is a trail running event in Black Mountain, North Carolina, centered at 191 Vance Avenue. The event offers a 5k and a Virtual 5K. The in-person 5k is not chip timed. The 5k course route is available for download from the organizer's website. Parking is available next to the start area near the Hampton Inn and downtown Black Mountain.
Logistics and race operations
Packet pickup in advance is scheduled at Mountain Running Company (106 State Street, Black Mountain). Race day packet pickup and registration take place at 191 Vance Avenue. Runners must wear their bib on the front in an unobstructed position for identification. Overall prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the in-person 5k. Spectators are permitted along most of the route and must not interfere with participants. All 5k and virtual runners who register before the deadline will receive a race t-shirt; late or day-of registrants may receive an alternative size or style.

Earphones are allowed but lower volume or single-ear use is recommended. Aid stations will carry small first-aid kits and some stations will be staffed by medical professionals with advanced supplies. Entries may be transferred or deferred; refunds are not issued.
