Canal Diggers 5K
The Canal Diggers 5K is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at the Hibernian Cultural Center, 19 Temple Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. This edition is the 20th running of the event and includes both in-person and virtual participation options.
The event program includes a main 5K race and a kids run. Distances:
- 5K in-person and virtual options
- Kids Fun Run (Youth 1K)
Virtual participants may complete a virtual 5K and submit a time during the event window the week before the race; the virtual winner will be announced with in-person results. In-person runners will find post-race food, water, pizza, live entertainment, and beer service for participants aged 21 and over, along with non-alcoholic beverages. In-person participants 21 and older receive two courtesy beer tickets.
The first 600 pre-registered participants, virtual or in-person, will receive a shirt. All virtual runners are guaranteed a medal. Team registration is available with a minimum of three members and awards for the top three teams.
Registration fees are tiered for the 5K with early, mid, and late online pricing, and a youth 1K registration fee is listed. Online registration closes on September 9, 2026; packet pick up is available in the days before the race and at the event location.
