Canal Diggers 5K, Worcester MA
The Canal Diggers 5K is scheduled for September 12, 2026, at the Hibernian Cultural Center / Fiddler's Green, 19 Temple Street, Worcester, Massachusetts. This year marks the 20th running of the event, presented as an all‑volunteer, 100% charitable race.
The event offers multiple participation options:
- 5K in person
- Kids Fun Run 1K
- Virtual 5K with a submission window in early September
In-person participants will find post-race food, refreshments, live entertainment, and beer available for those over 21 alongside non-alcoholic beverages. Pizza and water are noted among post-race provisions, and in-person runners receive two courtesy tickets for beer if they are over 21. All virtual runners are guaranteed a medal. The first 600 registered participants, virtual or in person, will receive a long sleeve performance shirt.
Registration follows tiered pricing through the summer and early September, with online registration closing before race weekend. Packet pickup is available in the days before the event and at the race location on race day. Teams are permitted with a minimum of three members and awards for top teams.
