Event
The Canal Corridor 100 Mile Endurance Run is scheduled for October 10-11, 2026 in Akron, Ohio. It is the 10th annual running of the event. The race distance is 100 miles and there is a 30 hour time limit. Registration opens February 1, 2026.
Course
The race is held on the Ohio & Erie Canalway Towpath Trail. The course uses out-and-back sections that run north and south from a main start/finish area in Akron. Traditionally the start/finish is at Missing Falls Brewery in downtown Akron. The trail surface is mostly crushed limestone with some asphalt or concrete; the course is roughly 70% crushed limestone and 30% asphalt. Total elevation gain over the course is about 2,300 feet.
Aid, certification and designation
Aid and water stations are placed approximately every 4 to 5.5 miles. Stations alternate between staffed full aid stations and unstaffed water and gel stations. Staffed aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink and various food items, including hot foods at night. The 2026 course is USATF certificated and sanctioned. The event is a Western States Endurance Run qualifier for 2026.
Location context
The Towpath Trail is part of the Ohio & Erie Canalway National Heritage Area. The Canalway and Towpath Trail traverse counties in northeastern Ohio and include connections with regional parks and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
