Campfire 5K
The Campfire 5K is the second annual running event held at Camp Skyline on 5650 Sandhill Road, Almont, MI 48003. The event includes two distances and uses wooded trails, fields, and a private dirt road; no public roads are part of the courses.
Both courses include natural trail features such as rocks, roots, and steep inclines and declines. Strollers and wheelchairs or walkers may be used at participants' own risk. Dogs are not allowed at the event.

Timing and race items are provided by Ope Racing Company and the event is chip-timed. Included items listed by the organizer are a finisher's medal, post-race banana and water, a post-race s'more, and professional timing. A race t-shirt is only guaranteed for registrations made before 9/22. Skyline's camp kitchen will offer coffee, beverages, and treats for purchase.
Registration opens 10/29/2025. The listed registration fees are $30.00 for the 5K and $20.00 for the 1 Mile, with registration closing dates specified by the organizer for each distance.
Age-group and overall awards are planned. The 1 Mile has ungendered 1st place awards across several age groups. The 5K has gendered 1st place age-group awards plus 1st and 2nd overall awards for each male and female. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
