Campaign For Shane 5k
The Campaign For Shane 5k is a community 5k run/walk held in Owosso, Michigan. The event commemorates a U.S. service member who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2012 and marks the fourteenth anniversary of that loss. It takes place at 201 E Mason St, Owosso, MI 48867.
Registration opens on April 8. Early registration is priced at $25 with a guaranteed shirt for those who register by August 21. Additional registration options are available at higher fees in the days before the event and on race day, with a limited supply of shirts for later registrants.
The course is described as paved and fast through the streets of Owosso. The event is chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation and provides live results texted to participants and posted online.
Awards include medals for the top three female and top three male finishers in the following age groups: 15 and under; 16 to 19; 20 to 24; 25 to 29; 30 to 34; 35 to 39; 40 to 44; 45 to 49; 50 to 54; 55 to 59; 60 to 64; 65 to 69; 70 to 74; 75 to 79; and 80 and over. Overall male and female winners also receive awards.
