Camp Lug-A-Chug
Camp Lug-A-Chug is a volunteer weekend at Marble Mountain Sno Park lower lot near Cougar, WA. The event brings people together to carry water into remote aid stations used for a nearby race. Each day's hike in and out is about 9 mile roundtrip.
Participants may help for one day or both days. Organizers provide supplies that are divided among volunteers for the hike. Volunteers should bring a large backpack if available; a limited number of loaner packs may be provided. Trekking poles are listed as helpful. Volunteers should also bring the snacks and personal water they will consume on the hike.
After each hike, organizers provide food. The event includes an informal contest: a free race entry is awarded to the person who carries the most weight relative to their body weight. Camping is available nearby on Friday and Saturday nights for those who want to stay both days.
There is no participation fee; the activity is described as a volunteer opportunity to support race aid stations by transporting water into higher elevations. Registration opens February 1, 2026. The event runs across a Saturday and Sunday and offers an option to attend a single day or both days. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
