Camp Lug-A-Chug is a volunteer weekend event held at Marble Mountain Sno Park in Cougar, WA on the weekend of July 25, 2026. Volunteers carry water and other supplies into remote race aid stations on the volcano. There is no fee to participate. Each day’s hike in and out is about 9 miles. A free race entry is offered as a prize for the person who carries the most weight relative to their body weight.

Format and logistics

Volunteers may help one day or both days. Organizers feed volunteers after each hike. Participants can camp nearby on Friday and Saturday nights. The organizer asks volunteers to bring a large backpack; some loaner backpacks are available. Trekking poles are recommended, and volunteers should bring the snacks and water they will consume on the hike. Registration opens February 1, 2026.
