California Classic Half Marathon
The California Classic Half Marathon marks its 15th anniversary in Fresno, offering a variety of course distances and event formats. The race options include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Wheelchair Half (13.1 miles)
- 10k Run (6.2 miles)
- 5k Run (3.1 miles)
- Virtual Run
The Half Marathon begins at Chukchansi Park and follows a route that takes participants through the Fresno Chaffee Zoo. Specifically, the course path includes Sea Lion Cove, African Adventure, and the Kingdom of Asia. The race concludes with a finish along home plate inside Chukchansi Stadium. This distance is also part of the Classic Runner of the Year Series.
Participants in the 10k Run are shuttled from Chukchansi Park to a separate starting line located inside Roeding Park. Like the half marathon, this course transitions through the Fresno Chaffee Zoo before reaching the finish line at home plate in Chukchansi Stadium.
The Rock and Run 5k is designed for both runners and walkers. While this course stays within the Downtown Fresno area and does not enter the Zoo grounds, it shares the same stadium finish at home plate. For those unable to attend in person, a Virtual Run option allows participants to complete their chosen distance on their own course and schedule. All in-person distances, including the 5k and 10k, provide participants with a custom finisher medallion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
