Caldwell in Color 2026 - Hendersonville, TN
Caldwell in Color is an annual student-organized 5K run/walk held on the campus of Pope Saint John Paul II Preparatory School in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The event raises funds for local nonprofit agencies; the 2026 beneficiary is The Jason Foundation, which focuses on youth suicide prevention through educational and awareness programs for young people, educators and parents.
The event is untimed and features color stations where participants are doused with colored powder. A separate route is available for participants who prefer to avoid the color stations. Participants traditionally wear white at the start and typically finish with color on clothing; the organizers advise bringing sheets or towels to protect car seats and note that leaf blowers will be available to remove powder from skin, hair and clothes. Attendees are asked to wear eyeglasses and a bandana to cover eyes and mouth when passing through color stations.
The course runs over varied surfaces including asphalt, gravel and grass and is not friendly for traditional strollers. Pets are not allowed. Student participants may pick up bibs, t-shirts and race bags on Thursday 4/23 and Friday 4/24 during school lunch; other participants may pick up race packets on the day of the event. On-site late registration may be available but t-shirts are not guaranteed.
Entry fees listed by category include adult, alumni, high school and middle school at $25, with elementary and military/police/first responder rates at $20. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
