Caldicot Triathlon : Caldicot Leisure Centre, Monmouthshire
The Caldicot Triathlon is a pool-based event held at Caldicot Leisure Centre and surrounding grounds in Caldicot, Monmouthshire (NP26 4BN), located between Cardiff and Bristol. The event uses an indoor pool for the swim and an arena-style grass circuit for the cycle leg. Both the cycle and run courses are traffic-free, lapped and described as flat, with clear post-and-tape markings around the circuit. Competitors must count their own swim lengths and bike and run laps. Wearing a cycle helmet on the cycle section is compulsory. The event is contained within the leisure centre grounds and all entrants receive an official finishers medal.
Several individual distances and a team relay are offered. Relay teams may consist of two or three people; each team member completes one or two disciplines, passes an electronic chip in transition, and may cross the finish line together to collect medals. The event also includes an Elite Sprint Head-to-Head race featuring ten male and ten female athletes and a separate Kids Fun Triathlon for 5 to 16 year olds. The listed main-event distances have a minimum age of 14 years on race day.
