Calderdale Way Ultra

The Calderdale Way Ultra is an off road ultramarathon that follows the traditional Calderdale Way route devised in the 1970s and passes through settlements such as Heptonstall and Mankinholes and larger towns including Todmorden and Brighouse. The course uses open moorland, woodland trails, canal sections and some road crossings.

The 50 mile course starts and finishes in Heptonstall and includes six aid stations. The fifth aid station is in Todmorden, positioned between two climbs nicknamed "little bastard" and "big bastard". The 50 mile event has a 17 hour cut off to complete the course.

The 30 mile course starts at Brookfoot lock, Brighouse and finishes in Heptonstall. It has a 10 hour cut off and includes the climb out of Todmorden followed by predominantly flat running to the finish.

Entry details include opening and closing dates, age minimum of 18 on race day, and tiered fees for FRA members, non members and under 23s. Registration is held at Heptonstall Social and Bowling Club, Acre Lane, HX7 7LT, with additional morning registration at the 30 mile start when available. Entries are not accepted on the day or after the closing date; a wait list may be offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
