Event overview
The Calderdale Way Ultra is an off-road running event based in Heptonstall, Calderdale. The route follows the Calderdale Way trail and passes gritstone moorland, woodland, old packhorse ways, stone causeways, hillside villages and mill towns along the River Calder. The event offers multiple distance options and is open to participants aged 18 or older. The main venue is Heptonstall Social and Bowling Club, Acre Lane, HX7 7LT.

The 50-mile route is a circular course that encircles Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden and uses seven vegan-friendly aid stations. It has a 17-hour overall cut-off and two non-negotiable checkpoint cut-offs at Withens Clough (checkpoint 5) and Great Rock (checkpoint 7). The 30-mile route starts at Brookfoot Lock, Brighouse, follows the same trail to Heptonstall, uses four of the seven aid stations, and has a 10-hour cut-off; runners must reach Todmorden Sports Centre (checkpoint 6) by 16:30. The 100-mile option is two laps of the 50; entrants must complete the first loop within 11 hours to continue. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times.
