Event overview
The Calderdale Way Ultra is an off-road running event on 25 April 2026 based at Heptonstall Social and Bowling Club, Acre Lane, HX7 7LT. The event offers multi-distance options and follows the Calderdale Way trail, using moorland, woodland, canal sections, old packhorse ways and stone causeways while passing through hillside villages and mill towns around Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. The minimum age to enter is 18. Entries include a finisher’s medal, post-race food, GPS tracking, baggage storage and free downloadable photography.
Course, distances and logistics
Mandatory kit must be carried at all times. Runners on the longer routes are supported by vegan-friendly aid stations along the course; the 30-mile entry uses a subset of these stations. A bag drop is available at checkpoint 5 for the 50-mile event. The 100-mile option comprises two laps of the 50-mile course; to continue to the second lap participants must complete the first lap within 11 hours. There are non-negotiable intermediate cut-offs on the 50-mile route and a checkpoint cut-off on the 30-mile route.

- 100 mile two-loop option (two 50-mile loops)
