Cake by the Lake 5K Run and Walks : Inverness, FL

The Cake by the Lake 5K Run and Walks takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Liberty Park, 268 N. Apopka Ave., Inverness, FL 34450. The courses run on the Withlacoochee State Trail and follow the shores of the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes. The course is flat, straight, and well maintained. Free race photos will be available online.

The program includes a 5K run, a combined 5K race walk and power walk (observer-monitors are used; no judges or red cards), and a one-mile Cakewalk. All finishers receive a medal with a neck ribbon unique to 2026. Age-group cake plate awards for the combined 5K races are awarded three-deep in five-year increments. There are no included T-shirts; a specially designed WST Cake By The Lake edition T-shirt will be available for purchase online before the event. Youth registration fees are listed at $10 for children up to 12 and $15 for teens 13-17; participants 18 and older are considered adults. Sponsors for the event include Mike Scott Plumbing.
