Cake by the Lake 5K Run and Walks
Cake by the Lake takes place in Inverness, Florida, with start and finish at Liberty Park and routes on the Withlacoochee State Trail. The event includes running and walking options that follow the shores of the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes and pass by Lake Henderson.

- 5K race walk and power walk with observer-monitors and no judges or red cards
- One mile Cakewalk
All finishers receive a medal with a neck ribbon unique to 2026. Organizers provide cake at the finish and present cake plate awards three deep in five year age increments for the combined 5K races. The course is described as flat, straight, and well maintained. Free race photos will be available online. T shirts are not included with entry; a specially designed WST Cake By The Lake edition T shirt will be offered for purchase before the event.
Youth and teen pricing is specified separately from adult pricing; participants 17 and under receive different swag than adults, including a heavy three inch full color medal for youth entries.
