Cake by the Lake 5K Run and Walks
The 6th Annual Cake by the Lake events take place on April 3, 2027, on the Withlacoochee State Trail, beginning at Liberty Park in Inverness, Florida. The program includes a 5K run, a 5K power walk with course monitors, and a one mile Cakewalk. All routes run along the shores of the Tsala Apopka chain of lakes and return to Liberty Park.
Awards and finish items are provided. All finishers receive a medal with a neck ribbon unique to 2027. Winners receive unique cake plate awards presented in five year age increments; the 5K Run and the 5K Powerwalk also have second and third place medals. Cake is served near Lake Henderson and free race photos will be available online.
Entry fees vary by age: standard adult entries are listed at $20, with reduced fees of $10 for children up to 12 and $15 for teens 13 to 17. Youth participants receive different event swag than adults, including a heavy three inch full-color medal. The event does not include complimentary T-shirts, but a specially designed WST Cake by the Lake edition T-shirt is offered for purchase online prior to the event.
