Event Overview
The BWell Saginaw Strides Toward Wellness is the fourth annual running and walking event. It is organized by the BWell Saginaw Partner Coalition and Dig Deep Race Events.
Distances and Details
The event offers three main activities:
- A 10K Run that is professionally timed and USATF-sanctioned.
- A 5K Run/Walk that is also professionally timed and USATF-sanctioned.
- An untimed 3K "Turtles & Hares" Run/Walk that is free and open to all ages. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on this course.
There is also a BWell Challenge for Change, where participants run both the 10K and the 5K. Participants in this challenge must complete the 10K before the 5K event begins.
Registration and Amenities
Registration for the timed 10K and 5K events includes a finisher medal and a race shirt (if selected at registration). Top three male and female finishers in the 10K and 5K receive prizes. All finishers passing through the finish arch are photographed, with photos available for free download.
The 3K event is free but requires pre-registration. Participants receive a race bib. Youth aged 5 and under can participate for free but do not receive a shirt or medal. A family discount is available for groups of 3–10 people.
Course and Location
All events start and finish at the Saginaw YMCA, located at 1915 Fordney St. in Saginaw, Michigan. A notable feature of the 5K and 3K courses is that they pass through the Saginaw Children’s Zoo. The 10K course includes an out-and-back section along the Saginaw River trail and crosses the Court Street Bridge.
Other Information
Packet pickup and late registration are available at the Saginaw YMCA on the day before and the morning of the event. A portion of the event's proceeds benefits ongoing BWell Saginaw community activities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
