Wasaga Beach Triathlon and Duathlon
The Wasaga Beach Triathlon and Duathlon takes place on Saturday August 29 at the Wasaga Beach Municipal Picnic Area, 154 Mosley St, Wasaga Beach, ON. Registration, food, awards, and the finish line are located at Wasaga Beach.
Distances offered
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km bike, 5 km run
- Sprint Duathlon: 5 km run, 20 km bike, 2.5 km run
- Olympic Triathlon: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike, 10 km run
- Swim-Bike: 1500 m swim, 40 km bike
Swim: the swim takes place in Georgian Bay from Wasaga Beach. Waves are expected. Water temperatures typically range from 20 to 23 °C, so a wetsuit will likely be optional.
Bike: courses use shared roads. The sprint route goes east into flat rural roads; the Olympic route continues further east and north toward the Tiny Marsh. Riders must follow safe riding practices on shared roads.
Run: sprint and Olympic runs head west past Park Two and Park Three along Mosley St and Shore Lane and return to the race site. The Olympic run includes a second loop before finishing.
Event services and logistics include a locally sourced finisher’s medal, a race-specific t-shirt, professional timing by Sportstats, post-event food, draw prizes, and age-group awards. Multi-race discounts and U23 (10%) and U18 (20%) discounts apply. Registration deadlines affect t-shirt and personalized bib distribution; registration closes on August 27. Packet pick-up is at the municipal picnic area with an early pick-up on August 28. Paid parking is available from 6:00 am with specific lot rates. Volunteers receive a high-visibility event shirt and lunch. Pre-event and final notices are issued before the race and a post-event report is published after.
