Butterfly Run
The Butterfly Run is an annual memorial walk and run that supports people affected by perinatal loss and infertility. The event brings community members together to raise awareness, foster healing, and fund local support programs.
The listed locations include communities across British Columbia: Okanagan, Nanaimo, Vancouver, Whistler, Kamloops, Trail, and Prince Rupert. Each of these sites is indicated for October 3, 2026.
The organizer includes an acknowledgement of traditional territories, naming Coast Salish peoples in the region: Musqueam (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm), Stó:lō, Squamish (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh), and Tsleil-Waututh (Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh) Nations. The acknowledgement also notes that participants may join from other places and recognizes the traditional owners of those lands.
Proceeds support local programs that assist grieving families and individuals. The Butterfly Run combines a commemorative purpose with community-based support and public awareness efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
