BUTS Bearly Ultra

The BUTS Bearly Ultra is a trail running event in Birmingham, AL held on November 21, 2026 at Red Mountain Park. The event offers two distance options:

27 mile
13.5 mile

The course uses a 13.5 mile loop that covers around 1500 feet of elevation. The 27 mile option consists of two loops of the same course. Trails include old rail beds, root filled single track, and sections that offer overlooks and former mine shaft areas. Aid stations are provided on course and are passed multiple times on the loop.

Race logistics include morning bib pickup at Red Mountain Park on race day. Timing uses HuTags worn on the ankle, and taller socks are recommended to wear the tags. Finish line provisions include hot food, cold drinks, and a finisher medal.

The event is organized by BUTS. A portion of entry fees will be donated to support Red Mountain Park and local trail systems.
