Butch Cassidy 10K/5K
The Butch Cassidy race is a long-standing tradition in Zion Canyon, Utah, reaching its 43rd year in 2026. The event takes place in mid-November and follows an original route through the scenic landscapes of Southern Utah. Participants travel from Springdale toward the historical ghost town of Grafton.
The course is set along the Virgin River and includes a crossing over the Rockville Bridge. The finish line is located within the historical site of Grafton. There is a registration cap of 450 participants for this event.

For the 10 km distance, runners are required to maintain a minimum pace of 13 minutes per mile. Those unable to maintain this pace will be transported to the finish line by a sweeper vehicle.
The event features several themed activities, including a "Catch Butch" competition, a selfie contest, a Butch Cassidy look-alike contest, and a poker hand game. Finish line festivities include live music, food for runners, and prize giveaways. Proceeds from the race support the Grafton Heritage Partnership Project.
Participants must park in Springdale at designated locations, such as the LDS Church, as there is no parking available at the Grafton finish line. Shuttles are provided to transport runners and spectators from Springdale to the 5K start and the finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
