Event Overview
The Bushwacker 5K features a 5K run and walk. The event has historically raised funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters and other charities.
Course
The race begins in Gulf Breeze at the National Seashore. Participants start on Gulf Breeze Parkway, with a 0.9-mile warmup walk or run up a bike path from the Live Oak Village Shopping Center. The race finishes in the parking lot of the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk.
Awards
Awards are given in the following categories:
- Overall Top Male and Female Runners.
- Overall Masters Male and Female Runners.
- Overall Grandmasters Male and Female Runners.
- Top 3 in each age group for male and female runners.
- Top 3 male and female overall walkers.
Logistics
Packet pickup is available on Friday, July 31st at Running Wild Pensacola, and on race day at the Pensacola Beach Boardwalk finish area. Buses transport participants from the finish area at the Boardwalk to the start line in the morning, and return buses run from the Boardwalk back to the start area after the race.
Post-Race
A post-race party is held at Bamboo Willie's on the Boardwalk. The party includes free popsicles, cold towels, and a Bushwacker drink in a souvenir cup, along with live music. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
