Burro Buster 5K
The Burro Buster 5K is a 5-kilometer running event in Fairplay that uses the River Park Trail and nearby downtown streets. The course starts and finishes in front of the Hand Hotel and passes Town Hall before joining the river corridor for a loop through the park.
The route includes paved sections and natural-surface trails on dirt and gravel, with some hills and high-altitude terrain at 9,953 feet above sea level. Runners pass views of the Mosquito Range and loop around the Fairplay Beach campground while moving through several of the community's scenic natural areas.
There is no water station on the course; water is available at the beginning and at the finish. The event benefits the Town of Fairplay Scholarship Fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
