Burris Hoot Scoot 2026
Burris Hoot Scoot is the fifth annual community fitness fundraiser held in Muncie, Indiana at 2201 W University Ave. The event includes multiple running events and family-focused activities organized in support of Burris Laboratory School.
Distances and options offered:
- 5K, adult and student (K-12) entries
- 1 mile, adult and student (K-12) entries
- 100 yards, Owlet Dash for age five and under
- Shirt only support option
Race registration opens January 5, 2026. Most race registrations close September 4, 2026; a shirt only option remains available through September 19, 2026. Entry fees are listed for each category: 5K adult $25, 5K student $15, 1 mile adult $25, 1 mile student $15, Owlet Dash $10, shirt only $15. Registrants who register by August 21 are guaranteed a Hoot Scoot t-shirt; supplies are limited after that date.
Proceeds benefit the Burris Owls PTSO and support teachers, students, and families of Burris Laboratory School for the 2026-2027 academic year. The Burris Owls PTSO is a 501c3 organization that hosts community events, provides teacher appreciation, awards an annual scholarship to a graduating Burris senior, and offers teacher grant opportunities.
