Event overview
The 20th Annual Burning River Endurance Runs & Relay takes place in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on July 25-26, 2026. The event includes solo and team options over long distances and runs through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Summit Metro Parks. The Burning River 100 Mile is part of the Midwest Grand Slam of Ultrarunning and is a Western States Endurance Run qualifier for its lottery.

Courses
The 100 Mile is an out-and-back between Cuyahoga Falls and Silver Springs Park. The 50 Mile is point-to-point from Cuyahoga Falls to Silver Springs Park. The Back Half 50 Mile runs point-to-point from Silver Springs Park to Cuyahoga Falls. The Marathon runs point-to-point from Oak Hill to Silver Springs Park. The 8-person relay uses the same out-and-back course as the 100 Mile.
Logistics and amenities
Approximate elevation gain is 8,000 ft for the 100 Mile, 4,000 ft for the 50 Mile, and 2,000 ft for the Marathon. Lodging is available at the Sheraton Suites Akron Cuyahoga Falls near the race start and finish. Donations from the event benefit the Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Summit Metro Parks Foundation, and Boston Township.
Registration and fundraising
Registration fees vary by registration period. Example current prices include: 100M $270, 50M $160, Marathon $95, and 8 Person Relay $80 (per person). Fundraising options can waive the registration fee if a fundraising minimum is met by the event deadline; fundraising minimums are listed per distance.
