Event

The 15th Annual Burleigh Swim Run Australia Day Challenge takes place on Monday 26 January 2026 at Burleigh Beach, in front of the Burleigh Lifeguard Headquarters, Queensland, Australia. The event combines ocean swims and beach runs and is open to participants from children aged 5 through adults aged 60 and over.

Registrations open 1 November 2025 and close 18 January 2026.

Distances and entries

400 m swim + 4 km beach run (The Challenge)
200 m swim + 2 km beach run (The Taste Tester)
400 m wade + 400 m beach run (Young Guns, ages 5-12)

The Challenge can be entered solo or as a two-person relay, with one person swimming and one person running; teams may be same gender or mixed.
