Event overview
The Bunnyman Fireworks 5k & 10k takes place on July 4 at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA. The event offers two race distances:
- 5k
- 10k
Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series, and toward the Sippin Series. A virtual race option is available.
Course and race services
The course is paved with limited hills. The 5k follows an out-and-back route once; the 10k is two laps of the 5k. The event is chip timed. Runners receive a finisher medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and one glass of beer or wine from Bunnyman Brewing. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before June 24; extras are available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis.
Water stations are placed along the courses: four stations on the 5k and eight stations on the 10k, at approximate mile markers listed by the organizer. Gatorade will be available at some water stations. Restrooms are located near the Visitor Center. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered, though shirt sizes for race-day registrants cannot be guaranteed. Live results appear on Athlinks and a race QR code; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
Awards, charity and other notes
Top three men and women overall are awarded at the post-race ceremony. First and second place male and female awards are given in the age categories 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. The event benefits Semper Fi & America’s Fund. Photos taken by staff are posted after the event, and a social media post pick offers a prize for a future race discount. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
