Event Overview
The Green Dot Bunny Trot is a 5K run and walk event. It is the fourth annual edition. The event takes place in Bardstown, Kentucky, with a specific address at 4305 New Shepherdsville Rd. It is scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The event is free for participants. Two distance options are offered: a 5K Run/Walk and a 2.5K Run/Walk. The 5K consists of two loops of the course, while the 2.5K is one loop. Walking is allowed in both events.
Purpose and Organizers
The event is a community initiative dedicated to building a safer and healthier community through connection, movement, and violence prevention. It is hosted in partnership by Green Dot, a violence-prevention initiative, and The Resilience Project, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on building resilience in children. The event is made possible by the CHI Mission & Ministry Fund through the Flaget Memorial Hospital Foundation. It supports local prevention and youth-focused efforts.
Awards and Prizes
Multiple awards and prizes are given. These include:
- Top male and female overall winners for the 5K.
- A "Hoppin' in Style" award for the most festive bunny-themed attire.
- A "Green Dot Unity Award" for the team with the most participants.
- Age group awards for both the 2.5K and 5K distances, with top two finishers recognized in several age divisions.
- Finisher medals for all participants who complete the event.
