Bulldogs On The Run 5K & Bark
The Bulldogs On The Run 5K & Bark is an annual athletic event held in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The primary mission of the event is to promote health and fitness while providing financial support to students at South Carolina State University. The event includes two distinct courses:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Bark (1 mile)
The 5K race takes place on a 3.1 mile course within the downtown area of the Garden City. All participants in this distance are electronically timed using disposable tags provided during packet pickup. The Bark is a 1.0 mile out-and-back route that stretches along the outskirts of the primary 5K path.
Participants receive specific amenities based on their event selection and registration date. Those who register by the designated deadline receive a t-shirt, with multi-blend shirts provided for 5K runners and cotton shirts for Bark participants. All finishers of the 5K receive a custom medal. Awards are presented to the first, second, and third place male and female finishers, with age group categories ranging from under 17 to over 60.
The event features music and entertainment at the start and finish lines. A medical tent is located at the finish line to provide first aid if required. The races are held rain or shine, and registration fees are non-refundable, though bib transfers are permitted for a fee through the registration platform.
