Scandinavian Relay : South Carolina
The Scandinavian Relay is a roughly 40 mile team relay held in the small towns called Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland in South Carolina on 23 January 2027. The course is divided into eight legs, with individual leg distances generally between 2 and 6 miles and listed below.
Teams may include 1 to 8 runners. Entry fees are $80 for the first runner plus $40 for each additional runner. Team categories include ULTRA (one runner), FULL (2-8 runners), MASTERS (2-8 runners, all age 40+), and Here For the Party (7-8 runners). Category terms: OPEN indicates more male than female runners, MIXED indicates half or more female runners, and MASTERS indicates all runners age 40 or older.
Registration is managed by a team captain who registers the team and pays the fee; individual teammates then register separately and sign a digital waiver and select shirt sizes. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race, with race morning pickup allowed if necessary. Each team receives a support vehicle tag; only one vehicle per team is allowed on the course or at exchange zones. Most exchange zones have bathrooms. Teams supply their own support food, water, and first aid.
