Event Overview
The Bull City Beer Mile is a physical and social event held at Durham Central Park in North Carolina. This mile-long race combines running with the consumption of beverages. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to enter. The course is situated within the park and consists of four laps around its perimeter.
Race Format
The competition follows a specific format where participants consume a 12-oz beer before each of the four running laps. The sequence is as follows: drink one beer, run a quarter-mile lap, and repeat this process three more times. The race concludes once the fourth running lap is finished. While traditional beer miles are often held on flat tracks, the course at Durham Central Park features variable terrain.

Each participant or team is provided with four 12-ounce beers as part of their registration. Rewards are available for the top three individual men and women, as well as the fastest relay teams. The event also includes music from a DJ and a mobile beer trailer on-site. Parking is available at the Durham Center Parking Garage and the Farmer's Market lot on Morris Street.
