Builth Wells Aquathlon 2026
Builth Wells Aquathlon takes place on 09 Aug 2026 at Builth Wells Swimming Pool, North Road, Builth Wells LD2 3BU. The event is intended to encourage people who have not taken part in an aquathlon before, while also welcoming more experienced competitors.
There are three entry options:
- 200m swim in the 25 metre pool then 3 km run around The Groe
- 400m swim in the 25 metre pool then 5 km run around The Groe
- 400m swim followed by 5 km run as a relay team with a handover in the transition area
Minimum ages are set by year of birth: the 200m event requires age 13 as at 31.12.26 and the 400m events require age 15 as at 31.12.26. The pool swim allows any stroke and competitors will be given a swim hat which must be worn for length counting.
Swimmers should provide an accurate swim time for lane placement. Overtaking is permitted only at the end of a length. Cut-off times average one minute per length: 16 minutes for the 16-length (400m) events and 8 minutes for the 8-length (200m) event. Swimmers still in the pool after cut-off may be asked to leave the pool but may continue with the run.
The event is chip timed. All finishers receive a medal and a video of their finish, and there are prizes for age category winners. Entry closes on 02 Aug 2026 or when an event reaches 99 entrants.
