Event overview

Bucky’s Boot Top Prohibition Trail Run is part of the Southern Singletrack series and is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Dowdell’s Knob in F. D. Roosevelt State Park, Pine Mountain, GA. The event benefits MercyMed of Columbus and is limited to 75 runners. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult on course.

Course

The race uses the boot-shaped "Boot Top Loop" and starts on the east side of the Dowdell’s Knob overlook area. The loop follows Pine Mountain Trail eastward, turns onto Boot Top Trail, crosses Dowdell’s Knob Road, and reconnects to Pine Mountain Trail westbound back to the start/finish. The loop is about 4.3 miles and features rocky, rooty, rolling singletrack and scenic features such as waterfalls, wildlife viewing opportunities, a 1953 plane crash memorial rock, and "Elephant Rock" near the finish.

Registration and logistics

Registration closes April 8, 2026. Entry fees vary by distance and increase after March 22, 2026; guaranteed race shirt sizes require registration by March 27, 2026. No transfers, refunds, or deferments are allowed. The event provides a race shirt and a finisher award. Two aid stations offer water, CeraSport, and snacks; participants must bring their own water bottle. Parking requires a $5 per vehicle fee; Georgia annual state park passes are accepted.
