Bucky's Boot Top Prohibition Run

Bucky's Boot Top Prohibition Trail Run is a looped trail race at Dowdell's Knob in F. D. Roosevelt State Park, Pine Mountain, GA. The event offers three distance options run on the boot shaped Boot Top Loop. The loop measures about 4.3 miles and features rocky, rooty, rolling singletrack with scenic highlights such as waterfalls, wildlife viewing opportunities, a memorial rock at a 1953 plane crash site, and a feature called Elephant Rock before the finish area. Runners follow Pine Mountain Trail east, turn onto Boot Top Trail, cross Dowdell's Knob Road, then reconnect to Pine Mountain Trail westbound to return to the start.

  • 14K: 2 loops
  • 21K: 3 loops

The field is capped at 75 runners; no additional spots will be released once full. Registration rates vary by distance and increase after March 21, 2026. Each runner receives a race shirt and a finisher award. No transfers, refunds, or deferments are allowed. There are two aid stations located at the Boot Top parking lot and the Dowdell's Knob trail intersection offering water, CeraSport, and snacks. Participants must bring their own water bottle. Parking requires a $5 self pay fee per vehicle and Georgia annual state park passes are accepted. Overall male and female awards are given for each distance.
