BuckeyeThon 5K
The BuckeyeThon 5K takes place on September 6, 2026 in Columbus, Ohio at 337 Annie and John Glenn Ave. The event benefits Nationwide Children's Hospital and marks the 25th anniversary year of the BuckeyeThon Dance Marathon, recognizing students, families, and supporters who contribute to pediatric care.
The program includes these distances:
- 5K runs for multiple participant categories
- 50 yard Kids Fun Run
Registration for most events opens April 10, 2026; the Youth Philanthropy Community registration opens April 28, 2026. Registration closes September 6, 2026. Registration fees vary by category and include examples such as $40 for the OSU Student 5K with Dance Marathon registration, $25 for OSU Student 5K without Dance Marathon registration, $45 for the General Public 5K, $20 for Youth Philanthropy Community, and $5 for the Kids Fun Run.
Participants who register receive a complimentary BuckeyeThon T-shirt and a commemorative finisher medal. The course is laser timed and the route features Champion Families, upbeat music, and campus views. A post race celebration presented by the Undergraduate Student Government follows, offering free food, hydration stations, family friendly activities, inflatables, a live student band, and opportunities to meet Champion Kids and learn about the event's impact at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
