The Buckeye Moon Trail Runs is a night trail event in Lewis Center, OH, held at the Galena Boat Ramp area near Alum Creek Reservoir and 4450 Africa Road on Saturday evening, August 8, 2026. The course is a wide-track, moderately rolling loop that runs alongside the reservoir and is composed of a 4.1 mile trail loop. Runners may choose to complete one to four laps of this loop.
Distances offered:
- 7K 1 loop
- 13K 2 loops

- 26K 4 loops
The course will be marked with small LED lights to assist navigation. Participants are required to have a headlamp or running light for the night run. The Amphipod Versa-Light Max is listed as the official headlamp; it is USB rechargeable with two intensity levels, but any headlamp choice is allowed. During multi-lap options each lap passes the Celebration Area where earlier finishers and spectators may be present.
Check-in is located at the Start/Finish area just south of the trail entrance at the boat launch. Parking is available at the Galena Boat Ramp off Africa Road; participants should park only in designated parking areas and avoid parking on the grass or along the road. All finishers receive a commemorative finisher amenity. The top three overall male and female finishers for each distance receive awards.
