Buckeye Moon Trail Runs - August 8, 2026
The Buckeye Moon Trail Runs is an evening trail running event in Lewis Center, Ohio, held near Alum Creek Reservoir. The event offers multiple distance options and a looped course that places runners alongside the reservoir under night conditions.
The course is a 4.1 mile loop on moderately rolling, wide-track trail. Runners may choose to complete one to four laps to reach their selected distance. The route will be marked with small LED lights to assist navigation, and there is a Celebration Area on the loop where runners pass earlier finishers and spectators.
Headlamps or running lights are required for participation. Organizers identify the Amphipod Versa-Light Max as the official headlamp for the event, while allowing other headlamps to be used.
Check-in takes place at the Start/Finish area just south of the trail entrance at the Boat Launch area. Parking is available at the Galena Boat Ramp off Africa Road; participants should park only in designated areas and avoid parking on grass or along the road.
All finishers receive a commemorative finisher amenity. The top three overall male and female finishers for each distance receive awards to mark their placement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
