Buckeye Moon Trail Runs - August 8, 2026
The Buckeye Moon Trail Runs is a night trail event held in Lewis Center, OH at 4450 Africa Road near the Galena Boat Ramp and Alum Creek Reservoir. The course is a 4.1 mile loop on moderately rolling, wide-track trail with views of Alum Creek Reservoir at night. Small LED lights will mark the route to assist navigation.
Participants choose how many loops to run. Options correspond to the listed distances:
- 7K = 1 loop
- 13K = 2 loops
- 20K = 3 loops
- 26K = 4 loops
A headlamp or running light is required for all participants. The event lists the Amphipod Versa-Light Max as the official headlamp but notes that any headlamp may be worn. Each lap passes the Celebration Area where earlier finishers and spectators may be present.
Check-in is at the Start/Finish area just south of the trail entrance at the Boat Launch area. Parking is available at the Galena Boat Ramp off Africa Road; participants are asked to park in designated areas and not in the grass or along the road.
All finishers will receive a commemorative finishers amenity and event shirts. The top three overall male and female finishers for each distance will receive awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
