Buckeye Sun & Moon Trail Runs
Buckeye Sun & Moon Trail Runs take place at Alum Creek State Park in Galena, Ohio. The event offers separate Sun (morning) and Moon (night) trail run options with multiple loop-distance choices on a figure-8 trail that follows sections of the park and Alum Creek Reservoir.
The course is a moderately rolling loop of about 4.167 miles. The night course will be marked with small LED lights for navigation and a headlamp or running light is required for the Moon event. Runners may complete one to four laps to reach their chosen distance. A time limit of 5 hours applies to the 26K option; other distances have at least that minimum.
Entry includes electronic chip timing via MyLaps, a commemorative finisher medal for all finishers, award eligibility for top finishers overall and by age group, and a post-event spread. Event shirts are an optional purchase and are a soft tri-blend available in red or black depending on availability.
Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers for each distance, and top male and female finishers in age divisions. Age divisions include 14U, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus. Parking is available at the Galena Boat Ramp off Africa Road; participants should use designated parking areas and avoid parking on grass or along the road.
