Buckeye Sun & Moon Trail Runs
Buckeye Sun & Moon Trail Runs are trail races on 08/21/2027 at Alum Creek State Park, 4450 Africa Road, Galena, Ohio. The event offers morning Sun races and nighttime Moon races on the same trail system, plus options to run both in a double challenge.
Courses are loop-based on natural-surface trails that include wooded singletrack and fire roads. Several distances are available with specific loop counts and terrain descriptions:
- 7K : one loop, natural-surface trails and fire roads.
- 13K : two loops, wooded singletrack and mixed surfaces.
- 20K : three loops, relatively flat terrain with mixed trail types.
- 26K : four loops, extended endurance distance on the same trail system.
A Sun & Moon double entry pairs a morning race and a nighttime race on the same date, allowing a participant to complete two races over the course of the day. The event is scheduled alongside the Last Buckeye Standing backyard ultra, bringing multiple running formats to the venue on the same day.
The description above reflects course format, distances, loop structure, terrain, location, and the availability of both daytime and nighttime race options on the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
