About the race
The Buck Cancer Run is a fundraising running event taking place on May 15, 2027 at the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex in Little River, South Carolina (150 Citizens Cir, Little River, SC 29566). The event raises money for local cancer groups and is open to all non-profit cancer organizations that want to fundraise and bring awareness to their work.
Race options include:
- 5K
- 50K Ultra (solo)
- 50K team options for 2 person and 5 person teams
The 5K is a single certified loop; the 50K is completed by running that same 5K loop ten times. The course is USATF certified and measured for accuracy. The event provides one water stop on the 5K course, volunteers and staff on course, extensive directional signage with mile flags, closed roads and traffic control, and over 20 portable toilets at the start/finish area. Headphones are discouraged and dogs, bicycles and scooters are not allowed unless approved through USATF procedures.
Finishers receive event swag: 5K finishers earn a 4 inch boot medal with a spinning spur and a bottle opener top; 50K finishers and team members receive a belt buckle style medal. Race shirts use a soft technical fabric with sponsor logos on the back. Virtual race options are available and virtual packets are mailed within two weeks after the event. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before the race at J Bryan Floyd Community Center. Registration policies include no refunds and a processing fee for certain transfers.
