Bubba's Backyard Ultra
This event takes place October 3rd, 2026 in Center Conway, New Hampshire at 564 Stark Road. It is the eighth edition of Bubba's Backyard Ultra and uses a last person standing format open to all ages and abilities.
Participants run a looped course of roughly 3.5 miles that is mostly forest singletrack with short sections of snowmobile trail, fields, and logging roads. Each lap has about 250 feet of elevation gain. A minimal aid station is located midway through the loop. Organizers note they attempted a 4.167 mile layout but chose the current route due to trail conditions.
The race follows the backyard ultra rules: each participant must finish the loop within an hour and be in the starting area before the next lap begins. The event concludes when only one person remains in the starting area and completes their final lap.
There is an option to camp Friday evening. Sandwiches will be provided for Saturday lunch, and burgers, including a vegetarian option, will be grilled Saturday evening with a bonfire. Swag bags are provided to participants, and awards will be given in various categories despite a single overall winner. Entry cost is $175. A separate Beer Mile is scheduled for Sunday, October 4th.
