Event Overview
Bubba's Backyard Ultra is an ultramarathon held in Center Conway, New Hampshire. This event follows a last person standing format and is open to participants of all ages and abilities. The eighth edition of this competition takes place at 564 Stark Road.
Course Details
Participants run a 3.5 mile loop. The terrain consists primarily of forest singletrack, supplemented by sections of snowmobile trails, fields, and logging roads. Each individual lap includes approximately 250 feet of elevation gain. A minimal aid station is positioned midway through the course loop.
Competition Format
The race operates under specified backyard ultra rules where runners must complete the course within one hour to remain in the competition. Participants must be present in the starting area before the next lap begins. The event concludes only when a single runner remains to complete a final solo lap.
Additional Features
The event includes several community and support elements:
- Overnight Camping: Participants have the option to camp at the site starting Friday evening.
- Catering: Sandwiches are provided for lunch on Saturday, followed by a grill featuring meat and vegetable burgers and a bonfire on Saturday evening.
- Beer Mile: A separate beer mile event is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
- Participant Swag: All runners receive swag bags, and awards are presented for various categories despite the winner-take-all format.
