Summer Track Series #4
The Baltimore Road Runners Club sponsors an annual Summer Track Series held at local high school tracks. This meet is part of a multi‑week series hosted at Calvert Hall College High School and Maryvale Preparatory School. Meets are intended as developmental track events focused on learning, participation, competition experience, and skill development.
Registration takes place at the track and requires signing a waiver. Participants under 18 need parental or guardian permission. The series is free and open to all runners; voluntary donations support the Charlie Reynolds Memorial Scholarship Fund. There is a recognition segment and treats and perfect attendance recognition for the youngest participants.
The program includes events for toddlers and junior sprinters as well as adult races. Age groups for children are specified as ages 5 and under, 6 to 8, and 9 to 12 years. Parking is available at the track entrances: Putty Hill Avenue side for Calvert Hall and Falls Road side for Maryvale. Calvert Hall College High School and Maryvale Preparatory School host the meets.
Weather and air quality are monitored for safety. The club uses a heat index threshold of 95 to guide cancellations or delays and considers air quality index values of 0 to 50 and 51 to 100 in decisions.
