BRRC Summer Track Series #3
The Baltimore Road Runners Club organizes a summer track series with multiple weekly meets hosted at Calvert Hall College High School and Maryvale Preparatory School. Meets are intended as developmental track competitions focused on participation, skill development, and competition experience. Entry to the meets is free and open to all; donations support the Charlie Reynolds Memorial Scholarship Fund. Participants under 18 require parental or guardian permission and waivers are completed at the track.
Venues and parking: Calvert Hall College High School, 8102 LaSalle Road, Towson MD 21086. Track entrance and parking are on the Putty Hill Avenue side of the school. Maryvale Preparatory School, 11300 Falls Road, Lutherville MD 21093. Parking at the track on the Falls Road side.
The series includes youth and adult events across multiple distances. Tetrathlon competition requires completion of four events to qualify. Typical events include:
- Tots and Toddlers 100 m for ages 5 and under
- Junior Sprinters 100 m for ages 6 to 8
- Junior Sprinters 200 m for ages 9 to 12
- Adult 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m
- Adult 1600 m and 3200 m
- Relay events time permitting
Weather and air quality are monitored for participant safety. The organizers use a heat index threshold of 95 and practical AQI cutoffs to determine changes or cancellations when conditions pose health concerns. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
